10 Hot Ideas for Realtor Facebook Posts*

Are you ever at a loss for what to post on Facebook? You’re not the only one. We all have trouble thinking of what to post sometimes, especially when we’re in a hurry and there are 100s of other things to do. If you really want to be successful marketing yourself online, it’s important to remember the ultimate goal of successful social media marketing, and that is to get people involved with you and your brand. Get them excited about who you are and what you are doing… To attract their attention and hold it indefinitely. That is the ultimate goal.

Once you establish your purpose for marketing your real estate practice on Facebook, then it’s time to decide what to post. Remember the objective: Get people involved… Here’s my 10 Hot Ideas for Realtor Facebook Posts

1. Question of the Day

The Question of the day is a very effective way to start getting the blood flowing throughout your network. Questions initiate conversation and are almost impossible to ignore. People like answering questions, you just have to pose the right ones. Don’t make people think too hard, and make sure you ask open-ended questions, not yes or no questions. With a little practice, the question of the day can get your page popping.

2. Universal Quotes

I can’t believe it, but quotes are still a great way to spark engagement (likes and comments) on Facebook. Do a search in Google using a keyword that identifies how you’re feeling. Make sure the quote you post is easy to understand and positive. You want to uplift those in your network and help make their day a little more meaningful.

3. Pics of Your Life.

You may not realize this yet, but YOUR LIFE IS INTERESTING! Yes, what you’re eating, your garden, your newly decorated dining room, your new surround sound system and new shoes are all very interesting to people. People are curious! We like seeing how other people live. It helps us to identify with you and bond with you. Never think that something is too boring to post. Sometimes it’s the most mundane things that get the most comments. Give it a whirl… nothing ventured, nothing gained.

4. Funny or Expressive Photos & Videos.

You can find funny, interesting photos and videos all over the internet. Don’t be afraid to venture out and find different photos that reflect how you feel. Make your Facebook Profile (or Fan Page) into your own personal collage that reflects your personality, your style, your character and your values. Be creative!!! Be fun!!! Find photos and videos that express yourself.

5. Articles About Current Events

Current events are great conversation starters. Why not post an article about the upcoming football game and start talking to everyone as they’re getting excited. Articles about current events are easy to find, and easy to post. You can even use Hootsuite to pre-schedule posts in advance. You’re sure to get lots of response when you post about a well-known current event.

6. YouTube Videos of Your Neighorhoods

Give your audience a video tour of the neighborhoods you serve using your smart phone or flip cam. Making videos today is easier than ever, and studies show video brings great results. No time like the present to get started. You’re on the road anyway, might as well make some nifty short videos and upload them to Facebook using the phone app. You never know… you may become FAMOUS for your efforts! At least you’ll sell a home or two to people back home on Facebook.

7. Host a Mini Contest

Tell people in your network to post pics of something (whatever you decide) so that everyone can vote on the best one… This may be their pet, their dog, cat, horse, kids, grandkids, whatever, depending on your target market. This doesn’t have to be any big deal… Just whip one up really quickly and you’ll be surprised at the response you get. Everyone likes to join in contests, it makes Facebook more fun!

8. Links to Your Blog or Website

Every so often (though not all the time), post a link to your website or blog. If you write blog posts, then for sure post a link to your blog posts on your Profile or your Fan page. If you have a website with an MLS Search, then post a link to it, or even a link to a feed of all your listings. It’s cool to do this sparingly… If you do it every day, you could turn people off, so be wary of over-doing it.

9. Facts About You.

This may sound silly, but you should really take time to post stuff about you, like “I am a very good listener, I think that’s why my clients love me.” I know this is very odd for some of you–you aren’t used to talking yourself up, but you’ve got to get over that!!! You want to market yourself, don’t you??? People go out of their way to do business with people that they know and they like. It’s time for you to come to life on the web–to stand up and shine. This is a huge part of what we do in my Superstars Coaching Program. I help people with this process every day, among a zillion other things. I’d love for you to be a part.

10. Hyperlocal Content.

Since you are a real estate agent, Hyperlocal content is very important. You are basically selling location, location, location and that’s what hyperlocal is all about. All you need to do is set a Google Alert for your area(s) and post an article or two per day about your area. People will love you for it, and it will associate you with your area in the mind of your audience. What could be more perfect?

There you have it! 10 Hot Ideas for Realtor Facebook Posts. Each of these ideas is meant to help you generate interaction on your page–without interaction, your page is toast. You need to get people excited… Get them talking to you and about you to others. That is the essence of successful Facebook Marketing and social media marketing for that matter–interaction and connection. Now go make it happen!!!
