Start out small, just like you would in real world conversations. Don’t go too complex too soon… Make simple statements and ask questions that are of interest to your target market network.
Consider doing a “Question of the Day,” or some type of regular question ritual. People love consistency and will be more likely to respond when you do something regularly. Plus, questions are irresistible to answer. Questions are a great hook.
It’s a great idea to start your Facebook Marketing with people in your inner circle who already know and like you. Since you’re merely striking up conversations and not trying to sell anything, you real friends can serve as a great catalyst to get people in your target market talking.
Just like in the real world, you can’t be a no-show most of the time, then expect to be Mr. or Mrs. Popular when you feel like it. It is important that you maintain a regular presence to help people like you and recognize you. Once people know you are going to be there, they will start talking.
If people comment on your posts, make sure to take care of them by responding to them in subsequent posts, and, if possible, by going to their pages to make comments and like their stuff.
