7 Steps to Social Media Success

7 Steps to Social Media Success

The ultimate goal of marketing yourself and your business online through social media today, is to become well-known among your target market. My coaching programs teach Small Business owners, Realtors and Sales Professionals like you the simple steps for getting “famous” among your target market. No matter what you sell, it pays to be seen as a Superstar.

STEP 1: Branding You

Branding yourself online with social media is different from branding yourself the traditional way. If you want to market your business effectively, generate leads and make sales the easy way, then you must understand how social branding works. Things have changed. You can’t approach the new consumer using outdated marketing techniques. The old way is no longer effective, and can actually work against you.

STEP 2: Locating Your Audience

The next step to Social Media Success is locating your audience. Note, I’m using the term “audience” instead of ‘customers” or “prospects.” It’s a new day! The line is blurring between customers and friends. My coaching program reveals the secrets for defining and locating key individuals who have the potential to play starring roles in your social media success.

STEP 3: Attracting Your Audience

Once you’ve located your target audience and invited them to become friends, or started following them, it’s up to you to be creative in finding ways to attract them. Attracting your audience is a matter of getting their attention. Attention is a commodity in today’s world where people are bombarded with up to 30,000 messages per day. We must find ways to attract your target market that are punchy, different and shocking. Watch my video on Shock Marketing.

STEP 4: Captivating Your Audience

Captivating your audience is the process of pulling them in with extraordinary content that is interesting, relevant, entertaining. The best web content strategies involve the delivery of a consistent message that is packaged in a way so as to transfer through the viral marketing mechanisms of the social web.

STEP 5: Bonding with Your Audience

Bonding with your audience is a matter of being real, authentic and building relationships with those in your network. It’s a matter of sharing personal information about yourself, being vulnerable, showing your true colors, and at the same time reaching out and being loyal and trustworthy to those in your network. It’s a matter of “coming to life on the web,” and Friendship Marketing.

STEP 6: Converting Your Audience

Our whole reason for marketing is to generate leads, generate buzz and build our businesses by adding more clients and impacting our ROI, right? Well, that’s where STEP 6 comes in: Converting your audience into clients. This involves getting people to take action through “Calls-to-Action,” as well as through contact forms and email newsletters. We recommend using the Infusion Soft CRM Program for all your email newsletter and lead-generation needs. Watch this show on Automatic Lead Generation for more info.

STEP 7: Continuous Engagement

Continuous Engagement is the process of making your network interesting, exciting and informative enough to hold the attention and captivate your target market indefinitely. It’s about keeping everyone on the edge-of-their-seats via “Hoopla Content,” and other measures which we teach in my coaching programs.

These 7 Steps for Social Media Success are crucial to your marketing success online. Jenna,
In my articles on social media I have mentioned many times - it's quality, not quantity. thanks for your info!

Two RT's and a single Facebook Like in 2 months? Wow, way to go on proving how successful you are....
  • I guess that goes to show you, Jamie, that it's not the RTs or the comments or the Facebook Likes that make you influential. Ha!
  • I tend to agree with you, dotJenna. I watch your videos and read your articles, and subsequently get some great ideas from you. I don't always "like" or "re-tweet" everything you do, but that certainly does not mean you aren't influential. Success is measured by results, not likes or re-tweets. Success is not dependent upon any one thing you do exceptionally well. Success is dependent upon doing many things fairly well. Keep up the good work!
